I just recently attended my final muse event with two of my friends and class mate Troy. This muse event was extremely helpful considering it s almost finals week. This workshop was about test taking and what are good test taking strategies. The two presenters where very informative about every type of test that we would be faced with; math, essay, multiple choice and take home test. They also emphasized the importance of managing your time while taking a test. The strategy they suggested was look at the test, do the easiest ones first, and always make sure you have time to do your essay or short answer. While you’re writing your essay, make sure you always have time to proof read because teachers always know when you are rushing to finish and exam or if you had enough time.

Muse event #2
On Friday the 13th, I attended a money management muse workshop that I was informed about from my roommate. The presentation helped me understand what it is to establish credit, maintain good credit and what is necessary or not. I also found out that if you are late for one credit card payment, all other credit card companies you belong to are informed and can affect your relationship with them as well. I also became aware that it is only reasonable to use credit in case of emergencies, large appliances and to pay large amounts of money that you do not have the cash for. It is always better to use cash than credit. This muse event was just what I needed because as a college student I really need to start learning to save my money and only buy things that are completely necessary.

Muse Workshop
The first muse workshop I attended was called "the Cool Factor". It was not what I expected but still very informative. It was not about what cool is or how to be cool, it was about how to help you view of yourself as "cool". It taught me how to not worry about what other people’s standards of what cool is affect me. Also, that people with good views of themselves have a high rate of success at life. I went to this before our Muse class at around 1 or 1:30 by myself because I could not find any one to go with. I was actually glad I went to this because I learned that if I have a positive out look on myself, then other people will have a more positive look on me and my lifestyle. I also learned that even when I am angry, that that I should not let that ruin my good attitude because when anger over comes you, it completely wrecks your good judgment. I was glad I went to this muse event because it was actually good information that was not useless.

Bucket list
The key to success in life is to set goals for yourself and to make sure that you accomplish them. Right now as a college student academic and professional goals seem to be at the top of my priority. Personal goals are obviously extremely important for everyone because if you do not set goals for yourself, then you will never have the ambition to get ahead in life. As human beings, we are always looking for ways to get better results in life with better and higher personal achievements.
As of right now in college I am looking to complete my general education. I am still searching for a major, but my career goal is to start an insurance agency. The reason is, my mom’s boss who owns an insurance agency and is filthy rich. In about four years hopefully I will be graduating from college and on my way to starting a job with a decent salary. After I get my degree, I may be attending Farmers Insurance classes to be licensed so that I can be an insurance sales man.
In ten years, I will be twenty eight and hopefully I will be a successful insurance agent or sales men. Once I have established a career in insurance I may be looking to start a family but I would like to have my own house or apartment with my own car all in my name. I live in the bay area now and I will still want to live in the bay area forever. In twenty years I will still trying to become more successful in my career, hopefully in insurance and personally I will hopefully have a family and helping them succeeds in their personal and academic goals.
I will do everything that I can to reach my goals because I am the oldest of my parent’s children and oldest of all my cousins. I have to be a model for them so that they can be confident in going to college and reaching their goals. I am the one that they look up to for inspiration and guidance. And even if my goals end up changing, I will have the right attitude to succeed.

The song “Pour Some Sugar on Me” by the band Def Leppard contains lyrics that are obviously about a girl giving a man sweet love. Not making love together but a women showing complete affection to the man. The song is not just about one specific kind of girl, it is for all girls. This song is also about how much the man loves the women’s sweet sugar from his head to his feet and can not seem to have enough of it. The song also is not about a one night stand or just a fling, he asks in the song if he could be her man. This song is not as shallow as it sounds, it’s not just a sexual thing, and it also brings up the subject of commitment. To me, these lyrics scream what I though college was all about. These lyrics to me are simply talking about girls and guys making love and pouring it all over each other. This song that is about sex and you can tell by the first time he says”Pour Some Sugar on me!” I also really like Def Leppard because their drummer only has one arm and he is awesome at the drums.

drugs (revised)
Drugs and alcohol are two of the biggest temptations that are presented to freshmen in college next to sex. Ecstasy and Marijuana are the two biggest drugs in college from my personal experience and opinion. But there are other drugs like prescription drugs or more intense drugs like cocaine. Alcohol is definitely the greatest temptation because it is legal and freshmen interact with individuals who are of age to drink and those individuals allow people who are not of age to drink. Alcohol and marijuana are the only two substances that I have mentioned that I feel is socially acceptable. Anything else beside those two is probably not good and could potentially kill you off of a one time use.
The temptations of all theses types of drugs are presented at parties, in the dorms, and even on the way to class. I am completely positive that people drink and smoke weed on the weekend but I am also positive that people are doing other drugs that some people would not even think of doing. Every drug that you can think of is completely available to anyone who wants it. The real temptations come not when some one you know offers you something, its when someone that you do not know is when you will really be tested.

music list #4
This is my favorite song that talks about a specific dance. This is my personal favorite because of how the guy who is rapping doesn't care about what people think. He's skinny, with a big nose, and ugly and that is exactly what he raps about.
What You Know About that by T.I.
This is my favorite song to listen to in the car and to simply relax to. The beat is so cool, it is the same synthesized sound playing at a higher or lower pitch. Its almost impossible in my opinion to not like this song
Girl by Beck
Beck is a musical genius that makes song that can be put in numerous categories. This song in particular starts out with a sounds that are similar to the sounds in Super Mario for Super Nintendo. I love that game and I love this song. I put this song on every CD I make for a girl; its one of my favorite songs about a girl.
Many Men by 50 Cent
One of the very first CD's I ever bought with my own money is Get Rich or Die Tryin by 50 Cent. This song was on it and I liked it form the very first time I heard it. This song has a mellow beat with very meaningful words. I don't know what category this would be in but the song is about people wanting 50 Cent dead.
Uptown by Drake, Lil Wayne and Bun B
This is one of my favorite songs because all three artist rap so good in this song. They all have great verses with an awesome chorus. They pretty much just nailed this song. I also respect Drake because he sings and raps in this song. He also is known for writing songs for Lil Wayne in the past and know he rap with Lil Wayne himself.

#2(revised)
My grandpa said that of all his favorite bands, the Jackson 5 would be his number one. He also mentioned Marvin Gaye and the temptations. He had mentioned that when he was about 18 he kind of stopped trying to listen to the latest music and he had to focus on his job. So his musical interest sort of died so he could help support his family. And when he got his life on track her still listened to his record but then they became obsolete because of a tracks and cassette tapes. So that forced him to update his musical interest. He then began to tell me about how he has never seen any of his favorite artist live but he has see various mariachi bands live in Mexico and here in the United States. And then he was telling me how the mariachi band’s performance at my mother's wedding was so fantastic, it was worth every penny to hire them.
Now my grandmother on the other hand is a completely different storey than my grandfather. She was born in Mexico and lived there for the first 18 years of her life. She likes and listens to the music my grandpa plays like old 70’s love songs but doesn’t really seem to enjoy music that much. She did tell me that she loves to dance salsa and marange but does not listen to the music when she is not dancing. And then I started to think about why and her response was in Mexico, that was the only time that she could listen to music was at parties when she was dancing because in her spare time she would just work in the fields, work at home and do everything her mother asked. That just made me realize that I really appreciate the way I was grown up with the opportunity to listen to music and to not have to work every second of everyday.
The history of my grandpa’s music taste seems to be exactly like mine. We both listen to the popular music of our own generation. The only difference between us besides the actual music is that he had to pay for his music where I have the luxury of downloading it on my computer. Also, I am able to listen to more song because of technology; iPods, the Internet and I also have more recourse like my grandpa, father, uncles and even cousins. Also, I have been to a concert and one recently actually but me knowing my grandpa he would definitely hate them because he is the opposite of a people person.

LOVE FEST

On Saturday I attended love fest in San Francisco and for the record it was out of this world. I recommend everyone go at least once. When I arrived to the city on Bart there were so many people it blew my mind. I've never seen so many people that were dressed so crazy on one street. There were floats in the street leading into the actual location where the party was at. All the floats had people dancing and people on microphones singing, rapping and just shouting obscenities. From Bart, love fest was only about a block away so we got there fairly quickly considering all the people walking there with us. As we walked in, we could here loud techno music, bass pumping, and people having an amazing time. When I got in, I walked straight to the dance floor and danced for I don't even know how long but it felt kind of awkward because it was the middle of the day. I got there around one in the after noon and left around seven at night. I was so exhausted on the Bart ride home that I feel asleep. I had an awesome time at Love Fest and I will definitely be attending this event next year.

5 worst songs EVER!
2. Poker Face by Lady Gaga. This is such a bad song in my opinion because I prefer a remixed version by Kid Cudi where he samples this song and calls it "I Poke Her Face" and he does this song justice. Also, I don't think Lady Gaga can sing but she is hot!
3. You're a Jerk by The New Boyz. According to some people I met very recently, from Los Angles where The New Boyz are from, have told me that the style they try to say is from LA isn't this style at all. So basically they are jokes in LA and are posers. I'm all about being legit and being original.
4. Right Round by Flo Rida. This song is so bad because he sampled a Spin Doctors song in a rap song. And, Flo Rida cant rap, I cant understand him and I'm sure if i could i would hate him even more.
5. Yahhhh! by Soulja Boy Tell 'Em. This song is probably the worst song of all time and Im positive that 99% of people with a good taste in music would agree. Also, Soulja Boy Tell 'Em is one of the worst rappers of our generation and gives people my age a bad look. This song should probably be band from ever listening to again it is so bad.

Music List #2
Train with no Love by Andre Nickatina, this is another song about cocaine but with a different message. I love this song because it has the storey of Nickatina's life and how he grew up with his struggle of the game, friends and surviving the struggle. He talks about how he use to be in the dope game with his friend while he was trying to come up and be a rapper. It goes from him being on top of the world then being caught by the cops and being betrayed by his friend. After his jail sentence he go out of the dope game and became one of the Bay Area's greatest rappers.
I Feel Like Dying by Lil Wayne, this song is also about drugs but about what happens when they are all gone. Wayne says when all the drugs are gone, that he feels like dying. When this song came out i felt that Wayne was at the top of his career even though that his song wasn't released on a CD it was an excellent mixtape song and is part of the reason he is so popular today.
Smoke Two Joints by Sublime, this song is obviously about smoking weed. This isn't an original song though, this is a remake of Chris Kay and Michael Kay's song. They originally preformed the song in a reggae style. Sublime is under he genres of ska punk, reggae, rock and hip hop so i feel they did the song complete justice. I like the sublime version of the song better than any other version I've ever heard.
Freaky Tales by Too $hort, This song is a sex song that almost 10 minuets long. Too $hort is a pimp from Oakland that has made 17 albums all about girls. This song is about his "freaky tales" only 1/3 of his girls. I say 1/3 because there is part 2 and 3 to this song. I don't know how he fooled around with all these girls but he did. I like this song not only because I like to heard about guys fooling around with girl but because his rhymes are hella good and sound so smooth when he says them.

Music memory
As i got older i really got into rap, more gangster rap than anything. I also when through a "thug" stage in my life where i though i was the shit and i felt like i was a "thug". I was also living with my uncle at the time and that is all he listens to. I went through a stage where i didn't respect anyone who listened to music like country, techno or basically anything that wasn't about killing, stealing, girls, or making money. And some time around the eighth grade i really got into Mac Dre, a bay area rapper that was also killed when i was in the eighth grade. He has been rapping since my dad was in high school so there was tons of music for me to discover by him. His raps are so complex and his rhymes are the best in the bay to me.
Now as i think about my four years in high school, my perception of music, people and life has changed drastically. My freshman year i only listen to bay area rap which is all about the same thing and now that i think about it all sound pretty similar. There isn't really any talent being demonstrated. In high school is also where i met my best friend who really broadened my horizon on music. He introduced me to a new kind of rap, a rap with a per pose and a meaning to it. These rappers weren't talking about making money or making girls shack their ass, they were talking about issues that needed to be addressed and how people need help or how people need to better themselves. He also introduced me to Rock songs and alternative punk songs that i love to listen to now. i listen to songs that i would never give a chance to listen to in the eighth grade. I guess its a part of life to do a complete 180 on how i live my life.
The songs i use to listen to were mostly about hatred and had a negative message and feeling to it. Now i only like to listen to songs that make me feel good and have a nice poppy beat to it. I also really love female rock or alternative singer because of the sex appeal. I love it when a girl can sing rock songs and hit the high notes and then come back down to a soft sexy voice. Thw song that i"m listening to right now, ring my bell by blondie, is a good example of a great femiale singer but she doesn't sing rock songs, its more disco. And now i will listen to aaaaaaaaalmost every grenre of music that is in english excluding country. For some reason i only like johnny cash and no other country singer.

top 10 songs as of aug 31 at 10:08
4. Castles Made of Sand by Jimi Hendrix This is a Rock. Out of all the Jimi Hendrix songs I've listened to this is my favorite. I really like his voice and he's my favorite guitarist of all time I think.
5. Party and Bullshit (Ratatat Remix) by Biggie Smalls This is a Rap song. I really like this song because its about my two favorite thing to do; party and bullshit. the regular version of this song is still a good song but the way that Ratatat (a DJ from New York) flipped the beat is so cool to me.
6. Once Upon Your Dead Body by Coheed and Cambria. I really like this song because of the lead singers unique voice and just the good vibes from the instruments and the bands chemistry.
7. Cherry Banana Pumpkin Pie by Andre Nickatina. This is a Rap song, kind of Gangsta Rap but its only because that's what Andre Nickatina's swagger is all about. He has another song with kind of similar music but a slower beat but I like this one way better because it gets me excited and ready to go. This is like my favorite song to start out a mix CD i make for almost any occasion.
8. U Beezy by Andre Nickatina and Mac Dre. This is a Rap song but its also one of my favorite collaborations I've ever heard. Mac Dre's lyrics come out so smooth and natural that is sounds amazing when he raps. And the beat is so crazy, I could never get sick of this song.
9.Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn and John. This is like an alternative sounding rock song that is so amazing, Ive never met anyone who didn't enjoy the song even just a little bit. There's a background whistling noise that is also in the movie Kill Bill Vol 1, that makes me feel so happy but in the movie is so eerie. That's why i think i like it, because it makes me feel so many different ways.
10. 18 with a Bullet by Pete Wingfild. This a a slow song with this singer who's voice is so high he kind of sound like a female singer. It blows my mind every time I here it, his vocals are crazy.

intro to me
Yo. My name is Roberto Zamora and I am from Richmond, California. I signed up for this class because of the sex and drugs part, the Rock n' Roll part is just a plus. I actually do like Rock music but my favorite music is Hip Hop. I tried to attend a Rock concert but I got kicked out before the show started. My favorite Rock artist is Jimi Hendrix and my favorite band is Led Zeppelin. I'm pretty juiced to be in this class, it seems real interesting and fun. This is my only class that I have where I am not stressing about all the assignments that I am receiving.
College life is very crazy and hectic but still hella fun. This step to college is a real wake up call from high school. I came from a small private high school in Richmond where there was only 400 or 500 student to this huge campus where i don't know any one or anything around me. Pushing my self to go to class is extremely hard because i have anybody telling me to do anything. I can just sit down and do nothing for the rest of my life. I love chillin all day with my homies but i have to go to class but that shits cool i guess. this is probably my favorite class next to my math lab. i'm actually excited to learn about rock n roll becuase i'm not very cultured in this history of this genre of music like i am rap and hip hop.
